Boost fooler

I just placed a bid on a boost fooler on e-bay. They say 1-2mpg increase and possibly 30hp more. How will it react to a stock truck w/ only intake and exhaust mods done? I'm hoping it will make the turbo louder. How does it install. It looks like it just plugs in. In the description it said on the 03-04 you would have to physically modify the wastegate on the turbo. Is this true for the 325hp 600series? Sorry for so many ?'s There aren't really any local shops to take care of my needs. The closest diesel performance shop is almost 3 hrs away.

Is your truck a 04 or 04.5?

Kevin

ps I wouldnt fool with those boost foolers from ebay, I would stick with something like the mp-8 or quads products for something like that, the edge juice does boost fooling too. Boost fooling by itself wont do much for you, unless you have supporting products (fueling box of some sort)

The 325hp one is a 2004.5+ is it not, otherwise it'd be a 305hp ? I'm not sure exactly.

I believe you just plug it in to the MAP sensor, if you got the Quadzilla one. It should come with directions anyway. I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago from Full Spectrum Performance off Ebay and am waiting for it to arrive.

I was told it will drop EGTs even on a stock truck, and provide a bit more power. Not sure how the mileage will change. I am hoping to drop my EGT's with the BDDL and run the Crazy Larry a lot cooler once my 48RE gets beefed up a little.

Tru dat.... map only for a Quad.

You wont see better milage with it, and it will drop your WOT egts only. All it does is allow more boost pressure. When it spikes a 30 and settles at 25 stock, the boost fooler allows it to go farther. Max boost depends on fueling mods, I can stay at 45psi.

What exactly needs to be done to the WG on the 03-04 models for this to work properly? I'm interested in this....but do you guys think it would be worth while for me to get, as far as the mods I've done?

You would need to get a boost elbow.
Doesn't the quad boost fooler come with one in the kit?

I tried the quad on my 04.5, didn't like it. I tow allot and it killed my low end torque around town. On the highway it did feel better but I'd rather have the low end. I'm stock except for a torque tube.

How does a little extra max boost kill your low end?

It seemed to me that it fooled the boost all the way across the board, so it didn't pull as hard/spool as fast at lower RPMs. I just recently had the flash for the P0514 code done. I don't know how long the code had been in there so I may have to put the boost fooler back on and try it again. I do know the flash for the code sure woke up the performance and fuel mileage on the highway jumped about 2 mpg. I made the 700 club on the first tank after the flash.
