Bombing, where to begin.

My Dad got an 05 awhile back and has finally started to listen to me and do some performance mods. He wants an intake, exhaust, and computer upgrade of some kind. What do you guys reccomend? Intake I was thinking AFE with the torque tube, exhaust there are a number of choices, 5" or stay with a 4"? But the ECM upgrades are where I get confused. I've seen alot about that Smarty, is that good as a standalone upgrade or meant to be stacked with something like a TST?

Does he have gauges? He needs those before he adds fuel.

I'm with Boz. Gauges are first, then intake, exhaust, and boxes. Gauges are cheap insurance

Gauges will be on before anything else is added. What boxes are most running, TST seems to be a favorite. Also is an exhaust worth it if this is as far as he intends to take it? Should I just remove the cat/muffler?

Aside from the Edge Attitude are there any other ways to mount up a set of gauges and still keep the grab handle? My Father doesn't want to loose his trusty grab bar to help him get in.

OK, got my pics loaded up. Look in my photo gallery, I have my boost gauge mounted, and still keep the grab handle. I will get some mroe pics, as I now have my EGT mounted right next to the boost gauge.

He's already got the 4" system of course, so, unless hes planning on pushing 500hp stick with the 4" system and just replace the muffler and if you want to let the cat loose then do so. i have the mbrp direct replacement muffler and couldn't be any happier.

just my .02
