Been hearing talk about DC incorporating an on board generator using the CTD as the power source.Is this only a military option or are we going to benefit from this also? Just wondering as I need to set up an Emergengy Responce trailer for our Business.Thanks in advance for your knowledge.

 

Supposively DC has released several to the military for testing. Rumor has it that they be available next year as a contractor/RV model with a 10k generator that with the exception of an access door on the passenger side bed you won't be able to tell.
The military model testing now is designed to work the generator without running the engine for a period of time and then you can run the engine CTD if needed.
Just some info that I picked up from here and there.

 

Does anyone know of a way to use the CTD as a generator to power, say a whole house, for power outages? I read somewhere that the 5.9 by itself is used to power a 100kw generator. So we should be able to use it as a 15-25kw pretty easily.
