from what I was understand blow by pressureized the crank case. and pushes the oil out the breather tube or the easys way out of the crankcase. trust me 12L of oil make a mess of a clean truck nasty.

I talked to him yesterday and was a bit stumped about the oil thing. He did say he stuck a scope down # 2 the piston was mushed and burnt looking.
In any case he is down and looking to have Tim do his build.

I am absolutely swamped and have not boxed it up. Maybe tonight if I can break away from here on time. I did manage to track down a good box and have a way figured out to get it up there without damage

Thanks!
Heck...I will build the box and send it to you if that helps!
My driveway is clear and there is not 24" of snow around my truck...so I can commence at any time.

Hey can you share with me what the costs were for your rebuild? I've got an '03 block here near Calgary with a burnt #6 piston and scored wall. As well I've got brand new head that is beatup on the #6 cylinder. I'm hoping it can be saved with just a resurface....

well I was hoping it was a stuck injector too, but had the one that was smoking like a train tested and it was tip top shape and ,by smoking i mean , when I fired it up with oil in it to see if I could figure out was wrong the # injector area was smoking like a train so that is way I pulled it and had it tested so it's probee the valve seals too I think. I dont under stand how a stuck injector could push all the oil out that fast because when I ran for about 10 sec. I lost about 3-4 liters of oil out the breather tube ,

what kind of clues , rial pressure was fine, no codes , ran smooth, engine light went off after oil was put back in . what elece do you need to know let me know , I going to get my truck this weekend it's 4 hours from me right now, but I'm pulling the head no matter what to see what running with little to no oil did to it , another question can ARP head studs be reused I saw one guy say yes is that true. or should I just get new one to be safe

i'm in the same situation how long was your truck blowing oil all over before this trip. I can drive about 300-500kms. and only lose a quart or so but the tailgate and driver side has a haze of oil all over it

I have re-used mine many times
IMO its the same as a re-torque
