biggest impact on mpg?

what hurts my mpg the most, the 35x12.5 nitto mud tires(3.73 gears by the way) or the wide 18x9.5 teflon rims? I'm looking to either go down in tire size or a more narrow rim size. Possibly both if needed. thank you in advance. I'm only getting 10-12 mpg at the most using hand calc., (with tire size adjustment), and gps mileage.

I would have to say putting the right foot on a diet. I have 37x13.5x20 tires, 3.73 gears, auto tranny and if I set the cruise @ 65 (which is actually 78 mph) I still get 18.2 mpg. The only mods I have on the truck is 5 inch exhaust.

Speed, that is probably the biggest killer of all (for most of us).

Keep it below 70 and don't race red light to red light you'll see much better #'s.

I'm running 37's on 22's w/ 3.73's and i still avg. 17.5 on the highway..

I run 80mph all the time but my rpm's are super low which probably helps me out lol..

alright thanks, it has to be the truck then. I baby that pedal just to check things. My dad actually took his in and he had bad injectors and a few other things which made his mpg jump after. I'm thinking maybe I have a problem with mine as well.

On my 05 with 37's and 20's it was deadset at 18... Speed is a killer if you can keep the rpm's at 1900 which seems to be the sweetspot on these motor's you be good to go.
