Re:bigger tires on dually?

In order for the 315's to wear properly, you will have to go to wider rims. The stock rim are only 6" wide. The minimum rim width of BFG 315's is 8.5" rims.

I just wish other tire manufactures made tires for the dually's. I don't really trust Goodyear! :

Dr. Evil,
The key to my post "to wear properly"! You may want to check the tire manufactures recommended rim width.

So my statement is TRUE! What you have seen and what is correct are two different things. ;D

I don't care if they wear properly, because my 03 only had 20,000kms on it and my goodyears were over halfway gone.Even if I get the same mileage out of the BFG's,I'll be happy.I got over 80,000kms out of my last set of BFG's,on a 2500diesel with the same mods. They are a way better tire.

I should have said "thats not necessarily true" And Im well aware of the rim width recommendations as Ive been toying with putting 315's on my 2500.....lots of guys put them on stock 8 inch rims....may not be recommended, but it is done.

Sorry for the confusion.

Re:bigger tires on dually?

Those tires from the factory are junk. I have just over 10,000 kms on mine and they look half worn! I never liked Goodyear. I want to go to a low profile 14 ply Michelin with 10 bolt adapters and 19.5s and get away from the 17" stuff.

Re:bigger tires on dually?

Swampers have a 34.5 X 10.5 that just touch with the stock wheels. YOu will need the two inch leveling kit thou. They have a great loda rating aswell.

Re:bigger tires on dually?

If you actually work the truck and rack up miles go with the rickson wheels and commercial tires.

Our big trucks at work have tire problems that are few and far between despite the heavy loads and miles put on them.

Re:bigger tires on dually?

OK
what about the average dork that doesnt have a ton of loot to play with and just wants a little bigger tire?

I had 255 85 16s on my 02
is there something available that is close to that size in 17 inch?
