Very nice. I want to do something similar. I was thinking ... couldn't a good muffler shope that can do mandrel beds fab up a single tube to replace your entire intake just like the shape you have?? You would just need a rubber "joint" piece at the turbo to connect them together. Should look nice (paint or powder coating would be slick), easy, maximize air flow with minimal transition edges, and fairly inexpensive. Thoughts?

I like that setup. What I like best about it is that I'm halfway there. To do the same setup all I would need is the 90 degree bend and the BHAF. Is that 90 degree just a piece of 4" exhaust pipe or what? Where did you get it? Which BHAF did you use?

Do you have a part number for the 90 degree bend?

Hey, no need to keep this all secret!!

How about posting all the part numbers used (with prices)??

Are we looking at:

Cummins Part # Description
AH19037 Filter
3316568S 90 deg. Rubber elbow, 4" inner diameter (x 2)
3316658S T Bar Air Inlet Clamps, 4" nominal (x 4)
????????? a short piece of 4" o.d. tubing for the center
????????? 90 deg., 4" o.d. tubing

Did you get the metal tubing from Cummmins also?

The part number for the 90 degree bend from Cummins is 89094a according to the PM I received. Air Flow Systems has a 90 degree aluminized exhaust bend that would probably work too.

- Short Radius

If nothing else I could get another foot of 4" aluminum intake tube and another 90 degree rubber elbow to add to my homemade torque tube and make it work that way.

I wonder how hard it would be to mount the Filter Minder on that piece of curved tubing....or if it would even be beneficial to do so??

Suck dirt that is .The problem with those is with a thick rubber elbow they will clamp down nice but over time will take a set and allow dirt past, been there, seen it,wrote the book.Lots of dusted engines with those clamps or any non constant torque type!Take a look at the clamps I'm using ,see those big washer lookin thingy's? They are actually belville springs and maintain a permanent torque to the clamp.Yes they are pricey but $45 in clamps is cheaper than $15 000 for a new engine! All I'm sayin is if you are gonna do it ,Do it Right the first time!
For what it's worth, THESE are the kind of clamps I used on my system. The stock system did not come with any "constant torque" type clamps so I didn't see the need to add them. In fact, the T-Bolt clamps with the nylon washers are much less likely to come loose than the factory hose clamps.
