best stack for 250hp motor??

Well a finally got a cummins.

A 03 with the 47re trans (accordin to the dodge barn) as of right now i'm savin up for the transmission probably a dunrite single lock tc with there valve body.

Ok heres the question I'm sure thats has been asked a million times i searched but i couldnt find an answer. Whats the best stack for usable power i.e like wont blow the turbo or have 1500 degree egts in like 3 seconds. I know the predator programmers 160hp but how are the egts? I was thinkin bout the bddl/quad whatever stack but a cant find anybody runnin that on a 250hp motor. Also is the predator adjustable on the fly, thats one thing a like bout the bullydog.

I don't tow with the truck (doesnt even have a ball) and id to have around 375 to 400 horses if possible. Really i'm open to anything but i'd like to keep the factory turbo cause this is gonna take a while to save up for or a lot of over time.

tst/ez. good stack for the 250's. they run less rail pressure than the new trucks so an pressure box ( ez) is a must.

SOs tend to have lower EGTs than HOs. I ran a Quad Race/VA C3.2 for a while and it got a little hot on the top end but still wasn't that bad with the stock turbo. I also ran a TST/EZ and then TST/MP8 stack and both kept EGTs well in check. You will need a better LP to run any of these stacks. A better turbo and injectors will put you around 500hp if you have all the other supporting mods.....

From reading on here for the last few years I'd say Dodgezilla has tried everything on a S.O. I do have an Edge Juice/EZ stack and it works well. I first had only the Juice and it pulled good mid - to - top end but the low end was very weak. The EZ stacked made it come alive. I did have a TST for about a month and all it did for me was throw codes, I could never get it to work. Even a trip to TST and they looked at it for 4 hours and couldn't figure it out. So good luck with the TST if you get it. If it works for you I'd try one again so be sure to post. I just assumed they modified thier program each year a little to be universal on newer trucks and that thew it off for the 03's cause it seems people that had earlier programming it works for them. But for everyday power and fuel econ. I do like the Edge stuff. I think it will make the power you say you want. But after a year with it I am wanting more. I am thinking a twin setup from relentless, and some DonM stage 2, maybe even a cam.

So the TST/ez seems like a good combo.

Other than the normal things (cold air exhaust lp) what else will i need to run this stack???

KVD, your stock turbo and injectors will really hold you back. I had an HTB2 62/12 turbo along w/ a set on Formula1 Flux1 40hp injectors on my 03SO when it made 500hp. Without those I bet I was only around 400hp or so. Still not too shabby but what a difference they made.
I made 341hp/714tq with the Quad/Van Aaken stack w/ no turbo or injectors. I swear it felt stronger than that though....

I think that streetsmoker is running a SO if I am not mistaken,, he is running the same basic stack as I am, and I know his truck flys. He is only running the regular juice.

Dodezilla is right though, your turbo especially will hold you back, although I personally wouldnt recommend going with a 12, (not enough difference from the stock for the dollar IMO) I would go with a 62 14 either from IIS or from HTT.

But honestly if you are just looking for moderate numbers (seeing as you are just doing a tc and vb) I would just recommend going with a juice/attitude. It is upgradable at a later date, stacks well with other programmers, gives you guages.

Kevin

With my truck, just running a bd powerpup, and k&n filter I hit 348 hp.

If I were buying one today, I would get a 62/14. I agree with morkable but the 62/12 was much better than the stock 03 turbo once I added all the extra fuel. The funny thing is that without the boxes turned on it didn't feel much different from the stock turbo in the 03. On the 07 the same 62/12 makes a big difference...

Yeah i'm not lookin to have an all out race truck just a strong daily driver thats why I'm tryin to stay away from a turbo and injectors. I just want somethin thats fun to turn up on the weekends no drag racin at the track of anything like that just messin with my friends.

Like i said i'm wantin between 375 and 400 thats about it or really on the upper end of what the factory turbo can do i guess. Also do you think that would be enough to beat a 06 powersmoke with a Bullydog downloader?

Ok i need some estimates on hp figures.

First the TST/ez stack
Second the Jucie/ez stack

Those are the 2 i'm tore between only because the TST has some many adjustments i'm worried i will kinda get lost with it and the juice can be upgraded to the hot level if i I want more down the road.

Also what the max boost a should let the turbo see? I've heard only bout 35 of so and u can put a boost elbow on the 03s right??

Personally, if you are only looking for that much power,, dont stack,, stacking leaves the door open for lots of problems. Stacking is IMO for only those that want big power. I would seriously just start out with the juice, get your tranny upgraded, then get the hot juice, you will be over 400 hp and not be having any issues.

Ok that sounds good.

I wasn't really sure about the HOT jucie on these trucks everything I have read siad u need a turbo but thats was on the 325/600 trucks so I really didn't know.

So with just a hot juice a should be around 400? I guess if a ever want more a could add a prssure only quad but if the hot juice will get me up in the high 3s of low 4s a will be set.

I still don't think you be at 400hp even w/ the Hot Juice. It really takes a lot to make an SO put out that kind of power. Throw it on and get to a dyno and let us all know....
