I looked at both the Bully Dodge Triple Dog and the Smarty, and went with the Smarty Jr. I am glad I went with Smarty and it feels like a brand new truck, gets better mpg and has all the features you will need. I would also add some gauges, that was the only feature the TD had over the Jr.

Smarty Jr. Pretty safe programmer.

Your truck has a stock 4 inch exhaust of good quality so I wouldn't spend money on another 4 inch exhaust. Cold air and elbow will help a little but not much, I've heard the elbow helps it spool up faster.

They Smarty is great but has no guages. With safety in mind you will need to get those as well. The EDGE used to have speed calibration in thier guage unit and monitors several things and can put limits on it and they have fuel economy tune I think, so you might look at them as well. I love my TST as well.

I'm going to go out on a limb here. H&S Mini-Maxx or the Black Maxx does it all, and not destracting when making changes on the fly. It also gives you gauges. The support is much better with H & S as well.

Active Maxx is on it's way very soon too. It's being debugged now. With the Maxx series being stationary, it will be allot safer to operate.

Im gonna have to agree with Steve here. I was Smartys biggest fan, but due to a lack of ANY communication from Bob Wagner over the course of a couple of months I have gone with H&S. The programmer is great and support is stellar.

Smarty, sure, outstanding tuner. Try getting ahold of someone when you need though. Good luck.

I know EFI live is available for the '06 and later and the Duramaxx guys are very happy with it. You may want to look into it. I love my Smarty SR, but my '05 precludes me from trying EFI live.

I was always 100% Smarty, put on a new turbo and could not tune it for the life of me with the smarty. paid $100 for a license and had a shop tune it with EFI live...my mileage is back, trans shifts better and the power is up from smarty, especially in the mid to high range.

I would say Smarty if you have a typical buld and EFI otherwise...i'm going to sell my smarty and get a V2 so i can do my own tunes with EFI live.

Good luck!
