Best Low End Chip or Programmer

I'm looking for a mod that will provide the best low end increase for a manual tranmission. I tend to lug my truck around below 2000 rpm. Without the turbo spun up pretty high, the computer isn't fueling very much. Anyone got any tips or tricks? What programmer or chip fuels the lowest. I'm not looking for insane highend horsepower. More torque down low.Thanks.

From what I understand which isnt much, Smarty or Smarty Jr is the way to go. After talking with Larry (DTR Store) he has convinced me to buy the Jr. I am like you between 1500 and 2k rpm range...every once in a while I wind it out to 2.5k. But I wanted something that was good in low rpm range and that I could pull a trailer (12k) with.

The only other thing that everyone states is if you start playing .... GET GUAGES first. At least Pyro and Boost for the manual.

Cheers Bryan

Any pressure box will give you more lowend torque. Used Edge EZ, used MP-8, Quadzilla also has a pressure box XZT I think. Smarty is the "deluxe" lowend programmer on this website, but there are cheaper ways to bump your lowend power and mileage a bit.

Just buy the Smarty Sr. that away you can go up in power if you want. I love mine. On level 5 it is really smooth through the entire power band.

Like stated more pressure will help but I have yet to see anything compare with a smarty, except mechanical power, ie. injectors and/or pump.

Lugging around at 2k??? I usually shift mine at 1800 and run around 13-1600. I do live on back woods roads that you run 40-45mph though. The MP-8 works great, right past 1k it starts pulling. The Smarty is more powerful but it gets toasty (sw9 only) when you run it low, and it kills all the skeeters along the road

You WILL tear out that clutch with low end torque. I noticed my stocker slipping more around 16-1800 than 2500+ at WOT

Smarty eliminates the torque management, so instantly it will pull more off the line. The price of that is your clutch (among other things) no longer is "protected" by the torque management system. You'll be hurting the stock clutch if you run more than level 5 on the Smarty Sr.

id say a quad xzt, that way you can stack it later on down the road- but its a nice little chip by itself. with the smarty jr out now its also a nice new low end chip- but the price is on the high side.

I have the smarty jr. and quadzilla commander monitor. I am very satisfied with both, Get the Smarty Jr. and on the 40 hp (lowest setting) you will be amazed at the difference in the low end on the 6speed. If thats all you are wanting, that is deffinitly what I would get, also gives you about 2 more mpg.

You won't be dissapointed with the Jr.

Custom tuned boxes with Low end duration tunes will do it or you could get a smarty and dont look back.

Like the others said, if you want the low end to wake up, you want one of the Smarty products. Smarty made a bigger, low end, difference on my truck than injectors, and both made a bigger difference than pressure (yes I know I have an auto). And yes, low end torque WILL abuse your stock clutch, aint no free lunches sir.
