best drop in replacement airfilter
Just wondering which drop in replacement airfilter is the best ? I just want to gut the stock intake and put in good filter. I only plan on running a Smarty Jr and deleting the cat. Shouldn't the stock intake gutted with a better filter flow more than enough air for my needs?

I just switched to the Napa Gold filter after I cut a 4" hole in the bottom of the filter box. I also gutted the intake tube and removed the silencer ring. With the Napa Gold air filter, I have yet to pull in the filter minder....

I like the Napa Gold drop in too. Got tired of cleaning the serviceable ones and the stock drop-in seems restrictive.

Amsoil eaa189 here. I drive in very dusty conditions in the summer time here and so far for 40k miles I have not had ANY post filter dust in the tube.

Just put in an AFE last week. It seems to flow more than the NAPA Gold that I had as it has yet to pull the minder down. It would pull the minder down to the red with the OEM and NAPA filters.

I ran the K&N before I put in my Volant intake. It was fine and flowed a whole lot better than stock, even with the sound baffles. I don't clean these I just throw them away and buy another, my time is worth more than the filter.
