Best Box/Programer to buy

I do not want to go to crazy with mods. I plan on putting in a BHAF tomorrow. And in the near future I want to add a MRSB cool duel exhuast. I plan on keeping the CAT (I live in MA) I might add a FASS. So what would be the best box to buy. The smarty looks good. And before all the post pop up. yes I will ad guages

I would not pick the Smarty just yet, it's pretty aggressive even on level one. I'm sure there will be more drivable(for stock trucks) tunes available to download soon. My tranny is hopefully going under the knife this week if all my parts are in, maybe then I can handle the more aggressive levels

you will need to play with the tranny at some time once you start bombing the truck.

TC/VB and possibly a flex plate for 450hp and below.

i say NO to smarty...i road tested one for a weekend and before the weekend was up i changed back to crazy larry. Smarty will tear up a stock tranny no questions asked. On several occasions when using the smarty i also noticed at half throtle i could floor it and the truck didn't have any more.....this occured around 45mph....?

tranny mods- i wouldn't do it piece at a time...i would go for a bunch of parts or none. most typical tranny mods are to the torque converter and valve body. personally i have everything but a billet output shaft, which will be installed as $ allows.

best box for mild mods....Edge Juice/Attitude. If you are already getting gauges, i would suggest the Bullydog Triple Dog. It's recomended but not required to run a FASS with these mods on the higher settings.

As far as the tranny mods go, you can go a long way, with just a VB and TC in a daily driver. Especially if the tranny is in good shape to start with.

Ok I just want an extra 70/100-hp or so. I do not tow anything. I just want a little more punch. So I am not looking into spending 2k on a tranny and another 650 on a fass. I just want something nice and reliable that would compliment an air box and a cat back exhaust. How about the Quadzilla with all the gauges built in? I have not yet gotten the gauges but I like the look of the quadzilla.

Do to warranties being cancelled left and right with most boxes and programmers,I'd still go with the Smarty and some pillar gauges. More downloads are on the way for decreased fueling in low rpm's. Marco claims no detectability when returned to stock. My EZ with stock sticks,285's,3.54's and the camper killed my tranny lickety split. It's going to happen. You might do the tranny first.

Check the for sale section for used boxes. And don't forget guages... something like an Edge Juice w/ Attitude or a Quad Xzillaraider w/ Commander will be a one-stop solution for mild bombing....

Tst

Haven't had anything other than my tst. I love it, especially after the reflash that made it not as spiky. Comes with gauges and defuel on egt. Stock clutch hates anything over 6/5. Have over 60k with it and no trouble. Some day i will get arround to the other add ons to use all of it but best money I spent on the truck.

Smarty

I have a smarty on a stock tran. I have it set # 1 and love it.
As long as you are not doing burn outs I dont think you will
have a problem. Ask if there is someone in your area to try one.
When I take my truck to Dealer ,They cant tell there was anything
on it. I dont think any of the other boxes can make that clam.
