I have a Rhino, it sucks... but I've seen some great ones. My advice on a spray in is to look at the work that the company has done... It depends on the guy applying it.

I'm not a fan of drop ins, they scuff the bed, causing rust. They are very durable, if you tear one of them up, you're doing something wrong.

If I could do it how I wanted to... I would do a DIY roll on, then throw a drop in on top of it. You just have to do your prep work on the DIY one.

It also depends on what you are doing with your truck. I've had more mulch, dirt, rocks, oil and tools in the back of mine... not to mention beer and woman (I'm happily married...)

Just my .02...

The truck will be used on the farm. I have a b&w hidden hitch installed.

Any of the options I listed above will still work... You'll just have to do some cutting on a plastic liner.

I forgot to mention, a bed liner is really just for the next guy... if you get ready to sell the truck and and the dual liner option I talked about, just pull the plastic liner out and bang... brand new liner.

As madhat said check the company's work I have a vortex liner in mine holds up great but the company had had to redo it three times because it's pealed. They did it under warranty without question the last time they stripped it totally down and started over but it starting to peal again. Check there work and see if try will stand behind the warranty

I have had drop ins on previous trucks and never again (at least alone). They just flat wore the paint down to bare metal. My current truck has had a linex spray in in it since the second day I brought the truck home. Wont say it is as good as new as it has faded but outside of one or two minor chainsaw nicks on the tailgate portion it is still solid. It has been on there 13 years now. More tons of rock, dirt, mulch, wood you name it its been in there than I care to remember.

I've had Line-X on my last two trucks and they've held up well. It's not the cheapest, but it's a great liner.

There are several newer brands of liner that use the same or a similar type process as Line-X, so look around.

Also, like the others have mentioned, a good installer is important.

While moving a refrigerator I ripped a chunk of my liner out. The shop repaired it and you couldn't tell where it had been repaired. After six years they've looked almost as good as the day they were installed.

Good luck.

I've got LineX and a rubber mat thrown down for impact protection. The sheetmetal is thin on these trucks. The LineX (or spray in) gives some rigidity and heft to the bed so I can throw in things and not worry too much about dents or holes.

LineX is expensive but once it was in I haven't given the bed or it's ability to handle work a second thought. It was covered, no pun intended lol My installer did a very good detailed job on mine. IMO if you don't have a good installer the product no matter how good will be bad. On another forum I saw a LineX horror story on a brand new truck. I would have seen red and cops would have been necessary if it were mine.

Dad has Rhino in his truck installed around 2000. It was nice at first, but has since faded. It is rubbery and it gets gouged out if edges of pipe or metal get thrown into it. I wouldn't put Rhino in a truck after seeing how it has worn long term. Granted dad is tough on his trucks. It has seen farm work and it shows. I don't know what my LineX would look like if I let Dad have a go with it lol I'm scared.

I wouldn't go with a drop in plastic. IMO preventing rust out is important. Goes back to my point about thin sheetmetal.

I have Rhino on my 06 and it is holding up well. Edge of the tailgate is taking a beating and has some cuts. From my past experience they will stand behind their product. I don't like how dull and grey it gets but they have cleaners to get it looking new again.

I have the bed rug installed in my truck bed, the previous owner had it installed. It's seems to do ok when I hull things in the bed , but I have be careful not to snag rip it. I'm thinking seriously about having the bed rug removed and having a Rhino spray in liner done.
