beat my g/fs 1500 4.7
90 hp is pushing it on the stock trans. Once in a while and you would be fine I'm sure. It's when you start racing light to light everyday where you will start to notice the TC going.....
Why not look into an Edge EZ as well. (I'm not sure if they made them for the SO trucks). That box is good for up to 70 hp and 220? tq I think on the 03-04. We pulled our trailer on lvl 4 for a while and never had any tranny problems.

We had ours on for a while and even towed on level 4. Oh well, my crystal ball sees big injectors in the future.
How did you run her? If from a stop make sure you plant that foot on the brake and get some boost before you leave the line. From a 20 or 30mph roll I would think she would beat you.
If your warranty is important to you (and it sounds as though it is) leave the d**n thing alone. I would install the egt guage regardless of warranty, you would only void the warranty on the exhaust manifold and they aren't THAT expensive (it won't need replacement either).
If you want to bomb (and it sounds as though you do) make sure you have guages, choose your mods thoughtfully, and don't chase BIG power without supporting it with the proper tranny, turbo/airflow, and fuel pressures.
Most of all enjoy that badboy, my dads '89 Dodge Cummins (bone stock) is more fun to drive and listen to than any gas truck!!, and that truck is a lag pig that wont get out of its own way.
