beat my g/fs 1500 4.7

Hey all, I'm not a racer or anything but my stock 03' SO has been smoked by my dads 2001 2500 ram w/ 360 AND my girlfriends 03 1500 w/ 4.7 is this right? I have no mods whatsoever.

excuse me while I return my head to its hung state.

I'd say that's part of your problem, the other part is the auto trans. Big heavy trucks with about 240 hp to the wheels and a slushy trans don't exactly make good racers.

Don't worry though, you'll get plenty of ideas from the 3rd gen guys here.

I'm looking at an MBRP exhaust, intake and gauges soon (as soon as my warranty runs out for the gauges cuz they said it would void the part that the EGT screws into). Then what would you suggest? I pull a popup and a small trailer...other than that I have the diesel for reliability and resell value ... I wouldn't want to damage my truck, just beat my g/f in a race

You should have beat the 4.7 to hell. Ive seen a base Astro van with a 4.3 and a washer and dryer in the back run off and leave a 4.7.

Any ideas on what i can do after i get the exhaust and intake? I"m looking for something that's not really harmful (please don't flame) In otherwords, I'd rather err on the side of slower than the side of melting my engine. I don't really tow much and I just want to wake it up, remote controlled would be nice.

wife has a '00 Durango w/4.7l 4x4 and I am pretty sure it would leave me fairly easily even with 457 hp/1002 tq. in my truck. But I can go more than twice as far on a tank so I am not worried!

Get yourself a Quadzilla Tow box. A nice kick in the butt for your truck and your mileage may even go up a bit... Inexpensive too. Contact Lary here at the DTR store.....

A sure bet to win- hook a 5000 lb trailer to the vehicles, then race! Your g/f's 4.7.... well, um yeah, and your dads 360, if like my old '98 360, cant even get out of its own way empty.

Any opinions about this one
http://store.dieseltruckresource.com/doxzstadjmo3.html
for 100$ more i'd get 35hp.

is this one remote controlled? I'd really not want to be fiddling with it and the edge seems just too much $$. I'd like something that just makes me faster yet is safe for it, i'd drive a slug all day if i knew it would last. In otherwords, my interested is logevity > speed. But i'd like just a bit more safe speed. I think the more I type the tow module seems better.

Why not just get the 30/60/90 and leavei t on 60 but have the 90 there? Are the designs much different?

Because if the 90 is there and available you will use it more than you think...

is the 90HP still within the limitations of a stock truck? Before that i'd like to get a straightpipe or the MBRP stainless system and air filter. But it doesn't require any tranny upgrades or anything does it?
