I was told I should go ahead and shorten the wastegate all of the way. What would this accomplish? I have it set to 48 or 50psi. Any side affects from doing this or will it get me some more power.

 

im assuming it works the same on a single to twins,it does on mine,shorter rod most times more boost

 

Will it affect egts?

 

If your gate opens too soon higher EGT's and some power loss will result.

Bd's turbos are set up tight and need to be run the same way.

 

Tight meaning? By adjusting the rod all the way in, will the gate open sooner or later?

 

Shortening the rod will raise boost. Once you get above 60lbs, drive pressure starts to climb quickly. I wouldn't recommend shortening the rod all the way. Shorten it in small increments (two full turns at a time) until you reach 60 lbs and stop there.
