BD Short Shift

Anyone running this kit? If so, how do you like it? There's one on craigslist for $50 and I'm thinking about it. Worth it?

Ya, I emailed him about it. Can't really go too wrong for $50.

Thanks for the replies guys! I've emailed the guy, we'll see if he responds. If I get it, I'm thinking of putting an SRT-10 shifter on it. Anybody running that?

I've had mine on and overall like it.

However, It is different. I've noticed it becomes harder to engage 3rd from 2nd, especially with a clutch upgrade. It takes a bit more effort to put it in its place also. While the throws are shorter, it also is a little more notchy. I love it and hate it. I'm just trying to be honest. if you get it, make sure you make a nice fat bead of silicone on the shift case. And make sure you remove the bottom piece, its a metal/rubber gasket. I missed mine the first time and had sealing problems, silicon as you know won't seal well on rubber.

I'm with rip on this one.The shorter pattern is nice but the notchy feel can be annoying at times, like when your trying to row the gears really fast.Didn't help any on my times at the strip.Been thinking about selling it for sometime now.

Just an update...

I picked it up and installed it yesterday. I really like it! The pattern's nice and tight and I don't mind the notchy feeling. Easy installation too. Thanks for all the replies.

That looks great! Where'd you get it? Is it a simple bolt up? That's on my 'to do' list, for sure.

I got it off that other popular diesel site, off a guy named TOMMYGUN, but you can get them through Geno's now. I got the BD Short Shifter off a guy in Texas used for $75 bucks. I love it!!! My friends that "I' let drive sometimes can't seem to ever find 3rd though. I just move my wrist now, vises "rowing" through the gears.
