Banks Torque Converter
Got my new banks torque converter in a couple of months ago and it seems to be "shuttering" when it goes from first into second gear! ANy body know why that is caused?
Probably not the reply you wanna hear, but it's a banks product. It's overpriced for what you get. What level have you been running your pda on? Also did you do a vb when you installed your tc? Plus you have a lift and 35's, all that adds stress to your drivetrain.
With the 1-2 shudder it most likely is going to be either a band adjustment or a pressure issue. The converter isn't going to have a noticeable shudder until the lockup clutch applies which would be in 3rd and 4th. Like mentioned before have the band adjustment checked and also have the main line pressure checked. This should give you a good idea of what is going on. You might also want to check your u joints and drive shaft bolts. They could be loose which could cause a similar feel.

Depending on how low the pressure is you might be able to adjust it, or if the pressure is way down you actually need to rebuild it. The valvebody can only help to bring things up so far. The front pump is basically doing the majority of the work. Any time you go to a more efficient converter it is always a good idea to do a valvebody at the same time. Banks wont tell you that because they dont have one.
