Would I benefit anything on a stock truck with the banks techni-cooler and a high ram? I have heard that the cooler that you can keep your egt's the more mileage you can achieve. I will be using this truck to pull a 3k trailer a 100 miles or so a week. I might also be pulling a 6k travel trailer to colorado a couple of time a yr. Would I see any benefit from this mod.

 

My turbo is still stock but I do have a edge/juice installed and so forth. I cant tell if it makes much difference because I installed it all together. I can tell you I have never seen the EGTs over 1200* even WOT with the box on the 2nd setting while towing about 8000#'s in my 24' enclosed. I would have to question your mileage theory as I have never gotten very good with my 6spd even with the banks and edge. I think you would also be disappointed on your mileage savings if you are doing this mod stricktly for that purpose (cost vs. return).

If you do make this decision you might consider the other makes i.e. ats and BD sells one along with a few others (feel free to jump in guys). Anyway I chose the banks based on my lack of knowledge of other avaliable kits but I do have cool egt's and I cant say if thats the reason but Im not complaining and I do plan alot more upgrades. I will say that the woman at ats gave me a price higher than Banks and she could not answer any of my questions and then told me they dont sell many of them. I think it was BD that told me when I asked about their price being the same as the banks without the intake banks offered with their package and they just gave me a little attitude and replied "ya get what ya pay for". Up to you.

when I upgrade my turbo Ill be installing the BD intercooler. They are local for me and I hate Banks more than BD so thats my .02
