Bank Big Hoss bundle!

What do you guys think about the Banks Equipment for upgrades? I'm thinking of getting the big hoss bundle. What have you heard? I have a 2007 5.9L 2500 HD Big Horn w/ 6" Tuff Country lift on 37" x 13.50 x 18. Thanks.

Overpriced for the amt. of power you gain....

Many other options out there...Smarty being the most used/liked around here.

What makes you want to use Banks?

You can get the same amount of performance and beyond for much, much less with other products, regardless of what any Banks rep or ad states. They are not bad products, but again you can get the same stuff for less through others. Quite honestly, most people on here will agree that when they see a "banks power" sticker on a truck they can't wait for the tree to turn green and give them a healthy stomping leaving them scratching their head on why they went with banks....

I saw that Banks just released a product called Banks Speed. It's meant for modified engines and performance. Does anyone know anything about it?

Dude!! back away from the cliff... slowly now... careful...

Hey I live in Pollock Pines and am in Tahoe often enough... put away the wallet until we can get together and I can get you started in the right direction...

You'll be able to see stuff on my truck and go from there.

That is why I left the Banks Power sticker on the back of my truck... But they are the ones left scratching their heads after the stomping I give them!!!

Seriously, there is a lot of threads on here about the subject and a lot of options. A lot of Smarty folks are here as well as Bully Dog... (they did put on a nice dyno day!) Those are not the only two either... and there are other power adders that are better in a "supporting role" such as a power puck or MP-8.

Just be sure you have your gauges and other supporting mods so you don't go blowing things up...

Your best bet if your not looking for anything crazy will be. Triple Disc Convertor and a upgraded Valve body for your trans(yes you will smoke trans quite easy if not) and Id do intake, exhaust and a Smarty S06. Heres some websites below. You will love the smarty! We all run it and it flat out rips!! You can make your own intake very easily!!

Smarty

Intake

Or you could easily buy a 5" Prebent 90* exhaust elbow and take your top factory 90 off and put the 90 in its place after shorting it to desired length and get ya a good cone filter. And your done!!

Okay, Okay, I guess I need to learn or read up on the smarty systems since I have no idea what they do. I guess my next question would be what intake and exhaust systems are the best? How would I upgrade my tranny to support these products and what about the fuel system?

It just depends on how much hp your wanting to make! Like I stated above. You can and many others have made there own intake system. Its really easy and alot cheaper! Go to the smarty link I posted!

Keep a good BUILT tranny at the top of the list! Once you do a few power adders.....your stock tranny will hate it! Get ready for the biggest addiction of your life!
