Why not get the dealer to enable the high idle or borrow a Bully Dog tripple dog and enable it yourself.

Next time you're in the Rancho Cucamonga area let me know and you can use my Triple Dog to enable everything.

Thanx Pat. I think for a manual tranny, to do it from the factory, you have to get a plug for one of the ECM receptors. Are people having this work on manual tranny trucks with the bully dog?

last i check the dealer cant and wont turn the high idle on with the manual. i was told that the auto shuts off when you press the brake to put in gear. like my 6spd and prolly all otheres when the truck idles up to 1000rpm(when cold) you can pop the ebrake and take right off with it still at 1000rpm. so if you had that option you'd be dumpin your clutch with the idle up and lite up the tires but it dies with either the brake or a touch of the throttle

Read page 3 of this thread, it is interesting. A guy does it to his manual trannsmission truck, but there is a plug for the ecm that must be installed.

dieselservices.com makes a electronic high idle kit that works on all 98.5-07s, I have one on my 04.5, works fine.

Thanx Bluedually. I just checked it out. I was very excited, but I must say, the $439.00 price kind of surprised me. It does sound just like what I want. Better than the factory because you can adjust the idle to your liking with a dial.

Thanx.

If you ground pin 22 and have the dealer enable the high Idle you adjust your idle with your cruise control (better then adding another dial IMOP)

Hey Ramrodd, is the factory cruise control high idle adjustable, or is it an on or off set up? I thought the factory high idle was set at one RPM onley.
Thanx.
