just a matter of longevity ?

are you good at dropping and installing the transmission if the ats turns out that it does not last long ?

The ATS Transmission warranty is three (3) years, 150,000 miles.

Now I feel comfortable pushing my ATS transmission. Thanks for the input. I feel I made the right choice with ATS. The long haul will be the true test.

But don't they have a disclamer about 'If it is used in competition, no warantee'??
They use to.

I didn't see that in the warranty. I also didn't see in the warranty that it had to be installed by a professional. They ask you to send in a card with a couple pressure test readings you make after installation. If the readings are wrong then there is something wrong with the transmission/installation.

My readings were: 80PSI @idle
130PSI@WOT(3 seconds)

They told me this is correct pressure for my set up.

Jakub at ATS explained in detail what power is acceptable through my transmission. That Jakub is quite knowledgeble and patient (I ask many ignorant, unintelligent questions!). The ATS transmission I installed will easily accomodate the power my truck produces (500-650HP). Of course, he did say not to hit pot holes in pavement when doing 100MPH in four wheel drive. I think I can avoid doing that.

Later this summer I am building another truck (I have another early 2004). It will have bigger, better stuff on it. I'm definitely staying with ATS for the transmission. I'm also going with the 3000/6000 ATS compound turbo set up. Jakub said it's the way to go if I want more than 1000hp. Of course, head work, fire rings, head studs, nitrous, and of course the Smarty TNT to get it moving.

Thats why I chose Goerend.. Great customer service and awsome trannys that can hold up to anything with an outstanding warranty so you don't have to worry about anything not holding up

My ATS's, yes plural good not even pull the weight of the truck on a day to day basis. When the denied the warranty that was the last, straw. I got my monies back from ATS ans moved on to bigger and better product.

Just a couple of cents to consider!

Sounds good Moobesor! I also wanted to let you know that for awhile I am pretty sure that Curt Haisley (Haisley Machine) was using an ATS Transmission in his Dodge CTD Pulling Truck there in Indiana. Also, Clint Cannon (owner of ATS) has a full billet ATS Transmission in his Duramax Pulling Truck and won several events in that truck last year.

ATS is a great trasmission IMHO...but it is NOT for everyone...depending on your goals.
