Thumbs up Arctic Air Twins

After lots of research of different brands, measuring my needs vs wants vs financial feasibility I went with the Arctic Air kit from Relentless Diesel. I just got the truck back last night from the shop where I get my work done (I didn't feel comfortable tackling a project like this).

Where to begin....alright...I'll start with what I got done and what is currently on the truck. The truck has:

TST standard program
EZ
Triple Dog
FASS
Suncoast Transmission
5 inch back exhaust (just done)
Arctic Air Twins (just done)
ARP Studs (just done)

Sound
With the 5 inch exhaust (I used to have a 4 inch), I believe there is a little more drone, the turbos don't "whistle" as much, its more of a whirl sound. This is my first set of twins so I wasn't sure what to expect...although I did think they would whistle louder. Its not a bad sound...if anything the inside cab noise went down a little which isn't a bad thing on trips...I'm just curious what it sounds like to the outside world.

Power
The shop who installed the twins also dyno'd it (Lujan Motorsports). Ended up getting 514. In a world of 800+ trucks...that's not all THAT impressive..but it was a BIG deal for me to break into the 500's

Feel
I think this is my favorite part. The first word that comes to mind and pretty much sums it up....SMOOOOTH....like "this is weird" smooth, roll into the pedal at any speed and it just works....hammer it from a stop and you take the sticks and marshmallows out because you'll be roasting the tires through a good portion of 2nd gear.
Haven't done too much highway driving, but the little I did do....rolled into it at 70 and the boost gauge just shoots over to 55+ psi. I'm going to need to get a new boost gauge, my current one goes to 60psi and I was able to peg several times. Lag...ummm what lag? This thing feels faster, I say feels and not "is" since I haven't timed it, but by the Seat-O-Pants-ometer...it feels faster. The speedometer just makes one nice smooth swoop to the other side...even the shifting feels nicer...again....SMOOTH

Overall
I've had a day to play with this thing and it feels GREAT. I am very happy with it so far. The shop were I got the work done was very cautious/skeptical of the whole "keeping the stock turbo" issue...I can't speak for them, but he didn't have anything negative to say after he took it for a test drive after the install

The kit is $2850 plus shipping (which is like 120-150, can't remember the exact number). The kit has been out for quite some time.

Nice....

What was the pre/post egt #'s?

What was it that kept you from trying the install yourself?

From what ive read/heard, I like this setup too.

I think this setup with an external wastegate would be awesome for most people... I've been debating it.

Congrats on the twins and breaking 500. I would of also been a little dissapointed in that number. Maybe you can find more by trying different settings. Your numbers are close to what you should be given that you have a 03.
