Anyone w/ Strait Pipe & Kitty In Northern Virginia? I'm thinking about droping my muffler, but would like to hear what the truck would sound like if I did that.

 

if your worried about it being to loud,,forget about it.....its loud,and it drones something terrible towing.......if your gonna leave the cat on anyways,look in the online store at the direct replacement muffler,it sounds nice if you leave the cat on........bama

 

I straight piped my 98 for about .5 hours. It sounded great for a few minutes but got really irritating pretty quickly.
On the other hand, I have heard a few straight piped 3rd gens that I thought sounded really good. I haven't ridden in one though.....
I've heard that if you leave the cat on it doesn't sound nearly as loud..

 

Can't help you with the cat on, mine has neither.

 

Yours was one of the trucks I've heard that sounded good from the outside. Having the manual trans makes a difference too.
