Anyone used the Edge Insight?

Just wondering if this would be better than buying guages if I end up with a different set up.

I have the Insight in my 07.5 right now. I've never had real gauges, and I don't have the EGT probe in yet, but you can get trans temp, boost, and a bunch of other parameters with it by just plugging it in. By looking at the menus, there are a lot more things being monitored by the Chevy's computer.

Plugs easy, I have the EGT probe and works great, plugs to the OBDII (bottom dash by the brake pedal) and pyro.
You can display from 2 to 7 parameters at once; I am currently using 4 displays, EGT, Boost, Trans Tem, and Fuel DIpsi.
Set on green color with 50% contrast.
Alert Alarms set at:
Speed 70, EGT 1300, RPM 2300, Boost 30.
Many other options to go with.
This set-up is to monitor Smarty senior (sold) and now going with Smarty Junior. Edge Pillar mounting is easy to install and match the color perfectly
I had 2 regular pillar gauges before the Insight.

Does the insight display actual boost or a weird number that is not the actual boost pressure being generated? I know that sounds weird, but I have heard of boost issues with the insight.

Your information is correct. After installation, when I choose “Boost” as one of the parameters for the screen, there was zero reading (and yes I drove the truck) with a sign in the screen of N/A.
So, I called Edge Products and asked them about it.

The Edge Technician told me to: from the screen selection go to “Chrysler”, then to pick the “Air” section, then to pick “Vac-Boost”. I followed the instructions and it worked, the readings are the same or similar to the readings from my other gauges.

It sounds to me that this would be a good match for the smarty.

How much do they cost and what other connections do you have besides the data port?

IMO, it is the Smarty of gauges, If Marco and/or Bob would produce something like that or similar, they would dominate the market.

About $400.00 and EGT is the only other plug.

Can you get the insight for an 05? I think I saw on the edge web sight that it is only for 06 and up. I only need it if I end up trading for an 05 and my juice/attitude won't work, then I wanted to get the smarty and insight.
