I was quoted about $500 for parts,taxes and labor to install one of these? they also said i need a wheel allignment after for $70. has any1 ever tried it? im a mechanic can i install this easily on my driveway? i have no garage.

does our 2004 dodge ram 2500 4x4 need 2" or 1.5" to be level

 

a levelling kit makes the front end higher.maybe they only have them in canada? at kaltire?

 

I put a 2 1/2" in from Top Gun Customz. It's pretty simple to install. It took me about 2 hours including rotating tires. If you've got jack stands high enough to hold the front end up from the frame you can get it done in your driveway.

 

you just remove front tires and coil springs?where does the spacer go?is a wheel allignment needed?

 

The spacer goes on top of the coil springs. I haven't had an alignment, but I think it would be smart to get one.

 

is it easy to remove the coil spring and put it ontop of the spring? did u need a spring compressor?

 

With the front axle hanging at full droop you pull the bottom track bar bolt (some try to do it without this step, but it's easier if you do), remove the 3 nuts on top of the spring cup, unbolt the bottom shock bolt and remove the spring. You put the spacer on top in the spring cup and then reverse the process. No spring compressor needed.

What did the kit cost? They shouldn't charge more than 3 hours labor max to install and then whatever the alignment costs.

 

$579 for total job, labor and allignment. they said 2 hours for install and like $200 ish for the kit...

 

That's about right for shop labor including the alignment. Might be a little high, but not much. If you shopped around you wouldn't get much cheaper.

 

if your a mechanic, shame on you if you pay somebody to install it. Took me about an hour with air tools. paying for an alignment cost total was about 180 bucks

 

you can get a 2 inch top gunz leveling kit on ebay for 65 bucks...its just coil spacers which is all ya need

 

what he said 200 is to much for a 2" lift

 

does a 2 inch levelling kit make front end even with back? or will it still be lower?
