I have an "ATS Triple-Lok" TC in my 2006 Dodge CTD CR. This converter has been in my truck since it was new going on FIVE (5) YEARS now. That same converter was in my 2002 Dodge CTD for about three years before that and all ATS did to it was update the internals and change the stall speed some for the CR.

I have NEVER had that code in my 2006! The truck has about 115,000 miles on it now.

I wonder if it would be #7 on the control plug? Same pin as manual TC lockup? Probably not... because that circuit went to ground and was not in series..if you put it in series only, that would mess with the operational range of the sensor.

Sorry, just thinking out loud.

That is becuase most of the ATS converters are not tight enough to cause the code. If you get the tighter custom TC's then it becomes an issue.

That circuit is monitored for resistance between 5 and 100 ohms, thats all. Adding even a 20 ohm resistor in a good circuit won't do anything. because it is just a ground circuit.

The code that generally shows with a tighter converter is around TCC lockup performance. The ECU sees an rpm drop that is outside of its paramters, something like 300-800 rpms. You get 1 code if it is too tight or too much slip. The ECU doesnt designate which one.

The only wire I can think of thta would negate that code is the output speed sensor return circuit. A resistor would consistently make the reading lower than normal and would solve the problem. As long as that output was not critical elsewhere then it would work.
