Anyone running fiberglass pre-runner fenders?

I'm looking for a source and considering purchasing a pair of fiberglass pre-runner style fenders.

I know there are usually horror stories associated with fiberglass, so I'm hesitant.

My truck was involved in a hit and run in a wal-mart parking lot yesterday with no camera surveillance available, so I'm SOL.

I like the wider fenders, and I'm considering purchasing them in lieu of going back to stock.

Anyone have them? How much did they cost? Where did you get them? How much extra prep was required to install them?

Thanks
Shawn

That's what I was looking for, thank you sir.

Now I wonder how much a stock fender costs as opposed to a pair of these?

Wonder if that is the manufacturer of the DRC fenders? Looks very similar...and I have seen that truck before somewhere else.

Dont worry about it, Just do it. Your truck will look great. The white ones I have seen in pictures have looked great.

I found a few pics on Kore's website, and I like how they look except for the bulge right by the headlight.

I'm considering them, we'll see.

I only need one fender if I go back to OEM, which means less paint work, and probably less money then the glass fenders - but the glass look sweet. I'm debating between going OEM with Bushwacker flares, or going to glass fenders. I have no need for the glass fenders other than looks.

I am also thinking about going to an SRT hood, and doing some custom paint work on the truck - so I may just end up saving up and doing the glass fenders at a later date, and leaving the banged up fender on it for now.

Decisions decisions...

Do you glass!!! It looks tough, and will lighten things up in the front which with the mighty Cummins is a good thing. my .02

After looking into it more, I'm a little hesitant due to the cutting required for the inner fender and wheel well liner.

I think I'll go OEM and just put flares on it.

DRC sells the Glassworks Unlimited fenders. I recall seeing a post by Greg Boardman a few months ago saying that he had special inner fenders that were included in the fenders he sold. Might explain why his sell for more than the price listed on the Glassworks website. It might be worth a call to him to find out if his inner fenders eliminate the need to modify your inner fenders.

Here's a lame pic of the messed up fender taken with my phone. You can't tell how bad it is witht he pic, but the fender is stretched and tweaked enough to where it would be more beneficial to buy a new one. The door is repairable (not shown):

These flares (bushwacker extend a fender) are dang near perfect in my opinion!

And here's the Above banks truck, but I photoshopped it white. Hopefully my truck will look similar once done. One day I may throw the glass fenders on, but for now it will be flares. This truck is just about perfect, IMHO:

And here's mine, similar to the above but with 18" wheels, no flares, stock hood, and no fog lights. Working on the needed items to replicate it, then it's time for the 'go-fast' goodies!

BTW, I picked up an OEM fender for $100, should have it fixed in a week or so I hope (doing paint work myself, as usual).
