Anyone with Fender flare knowledge

I have an issue I need some help and opinions with. Since I installed these 22" x 10" tires and rims, I can't keep my truck clean. I'm really trying to get it so the tires don't sling every little spot of water up the side of the fender. I've been looking through the post but can't find an answer. I'm looking at a set of Bushwacker OE style for 1.75" of coverage but I'd like to know how or if they'll do the job. As the pic shows, the lower part of the fender tucks in a lot. How far down will the flares cover the tires? Do I need 2" or 2.5" instead? I really like the look of flares on of 4WD but I'm not big with the look on 2WD so I'm hoping to keep them as shallow as possible. Does anybody have some pics from the angle I took this at so I can see how they fit? I would sure appreciate it or am I fighting a losing battle?

flares will help for sure....have you seen these????? I had them on my 01 and they worked really well....and did not look to bad either..https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=162031
it would be a great combo with the flares and should keep the rock chips to a minimum....

with that much tire sticking out, the bushwhacker pocket style is your best bet. if you don't like the 'riveted' look, the extend-a-fender or ats flare will give you some good coverage, about 2-2 1/2". any oe style flare, from dodge or bw, will do almost nothing with that much tire sticking out.

I'd like to see the pics but I really don't think they'll look right on my 2WD

I have thought long ago that what these trucks need are proper custom real sheet metal wheel well flares. You know what I mean, proper curves. Not some cheesy plastic or rubber after thoughts. The man that comes up with styling fender panel replacements scores big....

Flares conform to the body curvature, so may help some with the flaps in ******' pic - but to get the protection you're looking for, you'll need a ground-effects package, like for the sport trucks, where the flares don't conform to that lower curvature - they follow the tire tread\sidewall line, as the sport\custom trucks generally have the low-profile wide tires

Look in the 1500 sport and Hemi sections

There are those long "mud flaps" called long johns I believe, I had them on my 2002, they are a mud flap and the come up and around the top of the fender to about the middle of the tire. Yet they are no thicker that your normal mud flap, you can cut them to any width before you put them on, they are a little cheap and chessy in some opinions but for me at that time they worked good. Might be the coverage you need without the whole flare look, as you cant really see them from the side. Just an idea.........

I found a place that happened to have a set of Bushwacked extenders and he let me hold them up to my truck. They were the 2-1/4" flares and covered more than I needed. The OE style with 1.75" should be perfect, they cover suprisingly far down.

I saw that a lot of people are paying close to $300 for BW. Ebay has some for $185, BW. Is there a catch of what, I haven't seen anyone say they got them that cheap. Oh, by the way, the guy that let me fit them called his supplier and they wanted $425 , UNPAINTED .

I'm with you CLeger67, I just don't think fender flares would look that good on 2wds. I decided to just rhinoline the rockers and deal with the rest. If you do get some, be sure to post some pics!

I can't afford a fancy setup right now, ground effects and such, and this is the only way out that I can see short of getting new rims . Painted two tone to match I think it'll look pretty good, I hope.

Would you know about these BW flares on Ebay for $185

the average price for bw extend-a-fender flares is around $400- unpainted. $185 for a set of 4 on e-bay would either be a scam or they are used.

Agreed. I gave $500 for mine total after painting to match. You won't find them much cheaper than $400. I think the ones on eBay are similar to Bushwackers, but they are something else. Not sure on that, but that's my opinion on the matter. I will add that I doubt those on eBay are good quality flares for $185. Something just seems fishy about that to me.
