if you could do it with out the flap making noise it would be cool, but I dont like the sound of the flaps while idling

mine was 200* on the outside of the stack when shot with a infrared(sp?) thermometer..this was after a short drive, parking and jumping out and checking right then while the engine was running......
my truck is pretty much stock so others may get hotter????

Update


I took it through the automated carwash today!!! I kept the rpms reved to about 1800rpms...no soot, no problems!!!

I wish I would have tried it sooner.

Thanks for the guinea pig run today. Your results are exactly what I wanted to hear.

The only potential problem I see is not keeping the truck revvvvvvvvvvvved up. At the wash I go to, they pull the truck up to the conveyor, jump out and let it get pulled down the line. (sounds like a similar shamis style like you have been too).
