Any tips for installing an Arson III kit?

Looked throught the directions and it all seemed pretty straight forward. Does anyone who has installed one of these have any tricks or tips for making the install go smoother? Thanks for the help

Easy install although I would put paper towel under the Cp3 to catch the BB that may fall out, I dropped that sucker 3 times before I got it in.

Thanks for the info, did the torx bolts come out easy or where they in there tight? Do they need to be hit with some PB blaster or something? Thanks

Tap the torx bolts with something first. I used a piece of flat bar to go through the top of the engine bay to tap the top bolts. I also removed the tire and wheel well.

Whats the reason for removing the wheel and wheel well liner, just easier access? In the directions, it says to jack the back of the truck up to prevent the little check ball from falling out. Any advice on the check ball part? Thanks

Ya I feared those bolts too, some PB blaster cant hurt but mine came out easy no problem at all. I believe I took out the inner fender to make it easier to get to. All in all was done in about half an hour.

thanks for the info, hope it goes straight forward, i thought installing a simple fuel pressure gauge was not going to take long, and that turned into 5 hour project. See my other thread on Airdog fuel pressure.

What ever you do DONT FORGET THE CHECK BALL!!!!

Very expensive mistake if you leave it out.

Other than that, just use a soft-blow hammer on the torx bolts and take your time.

Is the check ball something different with the arson III kit? I never saw it when I did the II.

I dont beieve its any different then the arson II kit. My kit did come with an extra check ball in case i do loose the one in that is alreday in the pump. Its already in the pump and the high pressure fitting holds it in the pump. The directions say that it can fall out so that is why a new check ball is provided. It also says that the check ball should stay in the pump and by jacking the back up the truck up will help keep the check ball in the pump when you remove the high pressure fitting. The extra part that comes with the III kit is a cascade vavle which is located right next to the port where the fuel comes in from the fuel pump. Did you use a torque wrench to torque some of the fittings to the torque spces in the directions or just tighten them up by hand? Thanks

It comes with both kits, it goes behind the HP outlet fitting.

Nice to see that Shane is now shipping with the IPRV, that alone make the kit worth it!!!
