Looking for someone in San Antonio who has a muffler delete on there 04.5 and up Cummins 600.

I'd like to hear one before I buy the pipe.

Thanks

CowboyDave,

My only real question is how the straight pipe sounds on one of these 600series Cummins trucks. I'd like to hear one before I remove the muffler. I'm looking for more noise...and debating between a muffler delete or a replacement muffler.

I plan to leave the cat on it, just remove the muffler.

Also wondering if any of the local muffler shops will do a muffler delete without me having to order the pipe...or if I should just go ahead and order one and install it myself.

Thanks
Shawn

I did the muffler delete and I love the sound. Not much louder than stock at idle or cruising but it comes alive when you get on it. I've talked to alot of people on other sites and they all agree. I haven heard of anyone who was disapointed with the sound.

maybe its not martinez, it is a little tire shop on naco. if you are heading north off of 410 on naco you would pass up bitters RD and it is on the left side just before salado creek. Nacogdoches and Salado Cliffs RD.

I searched the phone book and found a Martinez which appears to be directly across from the Tax office there on Naco...now that I think about it, I remember seeing it there. I was thinking of the other side of Naco towards 1604.

I've got some errands to run and may be able to swing by while I'm out. If you see an odd phone number calling you, it may be me.

Take care and thanks for the info.

Smart move. Too many posts scattered about where some had straight-piped their CTD before riding / driving a CTD that was straight-piped.

Good meeting you today. BTW there is a place named Cordova on Naco too that does exaust work. Let us know what ya end up doing and how poor you fuel mileage is afterward. Its hard to keep your foot off the pedal.

Dave/Jason,

Good to meet ya both. My father-in-law thought both of your trucks were too loud, but I thought they both sounded good. Not sure which route to take...lol, figures.

I think I'm going to get the muffler delete and see how it sounds. If it's too quiet, I'll lose the kitty and then it will probably be too loud. Then I'll add an aftermarket muffler.

Any of you guys know anyone who does gear swaps and is reputable?

if you do alot of highway miles, i would keep the 3:73. better mileage. when you put on the power adders you will not notice the loss due to tire size so much any more.

I think your FIL is just jealous cause he drives a duramaxipad.

Do any of you fellow Cummins owners ever get together at any of the local events here in San Antonio?
