Any parts interchangeable in the 47re and 48re?

Some of you know I'm thinking about a new truck but I don't want to lose so much on the trade-in. Can any of the parts interchange from a 47re to a 48re? I'm thinking about going 6-speed but there are a lot more autos out there to choose from......
I'm mainly thinking shafts and drum and any of the other billet parts...

Dzilla, Virtually all parts are identical except for the planetary components. Talk to your man Tim about how much it would cost to do the parts swap. ks

Well, I think I have decided to keep the 03 and just look for a strippo 2wd ST w/ a 6-speed. Then I don't have to mess with it.......

Dzilla, Good to hear. I found a 4x2 '05 reg. cab and chassis dually with 1500 miles on it ...unfortunately auto 4.10 but will be a good hauler or drag truck whichever way I end up going. They want $27k. I wonder if buddy that had the silver regular cab dually with the cap ever sold it....it was in the trucks for sale for ever....it had over 200k miles.....now I'm interested. Your truck is pretty timeless and its just getting to be perfect....why give your perfection to someone else for a song. ks

That's how I feel. I would have no problem buying a used one but then I can't get 0%. I have a real problem paying interest!! Now, if I got one for a great price I may still come out cheaper in the end even if I did have to pay the interest........
