Another Wheel and Tire ?

I know these questions are drawn out ,but here it goes. I am planning on running a 8 inch short arm kit. How well do you think a set of 18X9.5 with 4.5 backspace and a -19 offset would work with a 38.5x14.50 tire.

Also does the offset have anything to do with the wheels sticking out to far. I know the 4.5 back space sticks them out.

Honestly I just want to know exactly what wheel specs I need I already bought a set of Welds that won't work out ,and I don;t want to get another wrong set.

Being real honest I am trying to work around what 4wheel parts has on sale right now as far as specs and designs. I have to stop being cheap.

Thanks again DTR brothers!

basiclly, the off set is what is left over from the back spacing. if you take a rim that is 10 inches wide, and it has a back spacing of 4.5 inches, and the center line of a 10" wide rim is 5", then the offsetis something like -25 which is mm.i am pretty sure - offset is what makes it stick out towards the fenders, and + offset is what makes in go in, like factory rims.
for eg, factory rims are 17x8 i think, with a back spacing of somewhere around 5.71"
i am not sure how it all works, just keep in mind that the more negative offset, the further they stick out.

Thats helps me out thanks. It is hard to find a 18x10 wheel with a backspacing more that 4.5. I don't mind the look of wheels sticking out I am just thinking about the ball joint and bearing ware you could get with a big set of tires and wheels sticking way out. Does that even make a difference ,or am I wrong?
