another question on the EZ or similar box

I just got back today from taking couple horses to Texas and i was driving a 6.0 psd auto (yea yea i know i know...) it had the superchips module installed and it threw some nice black smoke, nothing major... but fun... i was wondering if the EZ gave any black smoke at all to my truck listed in my signature? i was having lots of fun and wanna do it to my truck. i know these new ones are hard to get to smoke but just wanting something little but noticeable?????? thanks in advance
Eric

If I've got mine on level 5 it will really pour it out at low RPM's. After the turbo catches up it mellows out quite abit, but will still puff it out everytime I get on it. I'm going to experiment with another box, so I just got through putting my EZ in the classifieds. I really like it and usually run it on level3 but when I want more power, I'll crank it on up and watch it smoke!

Hawkey, I've seen it on here before, but how do you arrange the jumpers to achieve Level 5 or 6? I've run mine on Level 4 since I put it on. Does Level 5 or 6 give you a noticable difference?

HorseHauler,

I do not have an EZ, however I am running a Volumizer and in the 100 HP seting I get a good amount of smoke, until the turbo catches up. All other settings no smoke. You have to fuel these new truck pretty hard to get smoke.

Unless you have one of the original boxes you will not get setting #6. I tried mine and it reverted back to stock. The Xs represent the jumpers. I can tell the difference with setting #5 and that's where I keep mine. If you do have one of the old boxes beware, they are known for blowing O-rings on the injectors.......

So far I have had no problems. I usually only put it in that setting if I want to play a little most of the time I run in the 50HP setting. I have never pulled any weight in that setting ether, from what I have read is with the stock 48re you would not want to pull with that kind of power due to slipping issues.

Dodgedude361, pm Scotty. He has one of the 6 setting boxes and can tell you his build date. You could always try setting #6 and see if it works..
