Amsoil Bypass Filter

I recently bought a Bypass Filter with the bracket and need to know what size bolts to use to attach the bracket to the engine block next to the grid heater. Mine did not come with these bolts and any help will be appreciated.

Which bracket do you have?
the one I used mounts to the intake area and uses one of the factory bolts and the other 2 used are the same.
I think they are a 10mm 1.5 but not sure.

I bought this type of bracket, but my truck is missing the bolts on the block, it has one hooked to a hose but missing the others, is this normal?

If nobody posts up the actual bolt size and type, I'll pull one out tomorrow for you and check.

I'm not sure about the one hooked to a hose. Can you take a pic?

Here is kind of an overhead pic of mine. Is this the "Hose" you are talking about? If so, pull that bolt out. The others are the same.

Just like that buddy, I will pull it out and find the size. How long are your braided hoses? I would love to upgrade to those. Thanks.

Wish I had room to mount mine there. The darn APPS is in the way. I drilled and tapped my passenger side fram rail and mounted it there. I took a hammer and bent the bracket that was hanging over the rail down.

One more question, did you guys use teflon tape for all the connections? I am a little nervous about leaks.

As you can see in my pic above, I only use it on the NPT threads. The hose fittings are flared and self seal as long as you don't strip them or over tighten them.

No need for the teflon tap, you shouldn't have any issues.

One final question (I hope): How much extra oil does the extra filter hold? I am ready to purchase my oil and install this bad boy. Any tips on filling these up would be appreciated (fill filter half way, check oil and add if needed?). Sorry for the bonus question and thanks again for all your help.

It holds a little over a quart. Just buy an extra gallon and keep it set aside for the next 3 changes.

If you used an Amsoil filter they will tell you how much extra oil you will need. Find the filter on their site for that amount. I use the 110 filter which takes 2 extra quarts from what I remember.
