airflow

okay, this may be an off the wall question, but is there a way to get the air going in quicker to a stock air intake box? I'm putting in an amsoil cleaner and was just day dreaming about it. Kinda like a ram air intake, but just opening for easier intake when the turbo kicks in.

again, it may be off the wall, but figured i'd ask anyway

Do a search for air box modifications ( might be airbox too ) . There are tons of people that have swiss cheesed them, put 4" holes in the bottom of them. Anything you can dream up!

i drilled a 4" hole in the bottom of my box, screwed a flange in the bottom, attatched some heavy duty dryer ducting with a grate on the other end (all from hardware store, maybe $12)
took out the passenger fog light mounted the grate in the hole.

Why not put a fan inside the intake box and gain 50hp at 1700rpm like I did on a dyno.
Now the fan won't help or hinder at full throtle. Just gets the air to the turbo so it doesn't have to suck air in at low boost.

Mounted it on top of the air filter, inside the box. It's a 1,400cfm fan. Found it at http://www.partzfinder.com/electric_..._fans_s/28.htm If you want anymore info PM me.
There are several threads on here about it. Do search for intake fan.
