Airdog or?

My lift pump finally died tonight in rush hour traffic. Man that sucked. Did finally did get it to start and off the road. So is the airdog 100 the best choice? My truck is only lightly modded. I've been told by an injector company that these trucks are heavily lacking in the fuel filtration department. So I'd like to add some better filtration. I'm open to any ideas.

Thanks for the help

Kris

If filtration and reliability is your concern, the AD100 or Fass 95 would be prime candidates, they both offer water and air separation, 2-3 micron filtration as compared to stocks 7mic, and lifetime warranties and awesome support here on the forums. I have the Airdog and love it.

I see some guys go with a pump like the raptor and plan on adding filtration later. Any good reason for this? Also does the airdog come with new lines?

Thanks

Being cheap? Not wanting to do the entire install?

Yes, the AD comes with all new 1/2 inch lines.

I just installed ad 100 great pump like everyone is saying. everything needed comes with it . Easy install also.. iiiffff your lift pump is mounted next to factory filter if not you'll be dropping the tank my lift pump was in tank (2003) had to drop tank and run new straw from factory feed line around lift pump. so just keep that in mind 100 maybe not drop tank 150 drop tank also consider your finall power expectations 100 550hp 150 alot more.

Mines an 04. I'm pretty sure it is on the canister. Guess I better double check.

Some have the dealer retrofit pumps installed. The 03-04s were notorious for having inferior pump due to them being by the filter canister. They're better pushing fuel than pulling it.

Depends which part of 04 your truck was built. The 03/04.5 were built with the fuel pump on the back side of the fuel filter housing. After 04.5+ & up, the pump got moved to the tank. When the pump on the motor died, dodge replaced it with a intank model. If you are wanting to stay under 550hp, either the airdog/raptor 100 will work fine. Above that power go with 150 models. I went with the raptor 100, got a old fuel sending unit housing from Glacier diesel, cant use the intank pump housing. So if your pump is on the motor still (03/04.5) model, wont have to buy anything. The kit comes with a dorman fitting that hooks right up, then 1/2 line to the pump, then 1/2 line to the engine. No return line on the raptor, got a filter base from work cheap, mounted a 2micron before the CP3 pump, it was abit more work than just bolting on an airdog. But I didnt want that, just a pump. So the biggest decision, is what hp level you are going for ?. Buy/build the truck to that. With the Airdog/Raptor 150's you need a stand pipe, I wasnt interested with drilling holes, 1/4 tank fuel issues, etc. Yes there is lots of people with 150 kits out there. In the long run its your truck & $.

I bought mine oct of 04. So I should fall in that category. I think that the 100 will do all I will ever do with this truck.

I called DDP last year about some injectors and the first thing we talked about was better filtration. I've talked with two other diesel shops that also mentioned that to me. So I'm leaning towards the airdog.

Thanks for the help

Look on your valve cover, driver side for a white label. It will tell you your specs. If it says 305hp, its an 03-04 HO, if it says 325hp its an 04.5 to early 05 for your case.
