Air Filters - Fleetguard vs. Mopar

I'm not sure how long they've been available now, but I just noticed that Fleetguard now makes an air filter for the 3rd Gen trucks. Does anyone know how they compare to the Mopar filters? They're about $4 cheaper at Geno's so I was going to give them a try.

I couldn't find any product data. I just wanted to make sure they had the same (or better) air flow and filtration.

I use them in my pickup, fleetgaurd filters will have a cummins part number on them, so I would guess that you cant get much more recomended than that.
You might try your local cummins dealer, I get a better price on the filter throught them than I do from napa, and the fleetgaurd filter will have the foam precleaner just like the mopar filter, it has been my experience that the napa ones dont.

I'm waiting for someone to tell me that they're the same filters (just like the Mopar and Fleetguard Stratopore) and made by the same people...just labeled differently. Is that the case?

your right they are the same filter, usually the fleetguard # are different , but they are the same I work for a cummins dealer and have done research on them. They also make the oil and fuel filters for mopar.

The Fleetguard Stratopore 3894 is not the same as the Mopar unit.
The Mopar labeled filter is a non-stratopore Fleetguard unit.

For fuel/water separators, I've been using the Fleetguard - after all, it's a Cummins engine.
Only difference I've found is Mopar = $57 and Fleetguard from the Cummins distributor is $17. Cdn bucks, but you get the picture. I mentioned this to the DC parts guy after he gave me the quote on the Mopar fuel filter and all he could say is 'yup'.
