I ordered an AFE filter unit (not drop in) off of Ebay.
The vendor sent me an email asking if it was for an 04.5.

He also stated that if it was for an 04.5, that it wouldnt fit!!

So I guess I am going to have to wait for the 04.5 model filter to come out!
Along with 04.5 aftermarket turbo's, 04.5 electronic wastegate fooler etc etc etc

What about the Scotty? I cannot find a photo of it anywhere. It is between the Scotty and AFE w/ tube for my ride.

 

I hear now that the 2004.5 AFE filter assemblies are being made as we speak.
The wait is around 10 days.

Yep...that is correct. From the info given to me by AFE the 2004.5 has a new design. Having said that, it isnt a biggie. Apparently the change was necessary since the 2004.5 have the engine hood blanket. AFE needed to make the metal box shorter to fit under the hood. I was also told that the new design will be used for ALL 2004 in the future. Hope this helps.

 

The Ram Air III does indeed work on the 04.5's. You simply have to pop out the plastic cover beside the radiator, to open up the front air snorkle.
