Im new here - really great site you guys have.
I have a couple questions regarding the AFE Stage 2 air intake system. the one I got has a ram air scoop way down low too. It has the pro guard 7 filter, and it came with a re-oiling kit as well.
My questions are:
1. Does this filter already come pre-oiled from the factory? I couldnt tell when I installed it.
2. What does the ram air scoop actually do? Where its located, there is no direct line for air to get 'rammed' in. Ive had ram air kits before and they are usually ducted out to the fromt in direct sight of the incoming air.
All this seems to be doing is allowing hot air to get in.
My truck is actually running a little bit hotter now since Ive installed it and took out the stock one.
Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on here? Should I block this hole or what?
