AFE intake vs GDP PRO FLOW

i have done alot of research on intake manifolds. I have gotten mixed reviews. I believe i will not see a power increase which is fine my main purpose of getting one is to lower egts. I have heard people say they dropped 50 to 200 degrees. I have also heard of 1-2 mpg increase. I would like to know more about the GPP intake. The afe is the only one that has dyno results. 17hp and 50ft/lb and like 33% more air flow.

If I realized all the 50°-200° drops in temp and the 1-2mpg increases various mods are reported to give, my '03 would have gotten 30mpg and tow trailers up mountain passes at 300°.

Really though, I do believe that any of the intake horns now available are going to flow better than the stock one. True, there is no dyno chart available for the GDP. It will flow better than stock.

There are a few additional benefits to the GDP. For one, you can still use a PacBrake and the compressor mounted in the stock location. Second, there are not any bolt holes going through the manifold. There is zero chance of a boost leak, unlike the AFE, Banks, and BD units. Third, they're available in different colors. Fourth, they're cheaper!

I'm getting the GDP for sure. AFE is too proud of theirs, plus it won't let me leave the PacBrake compressor where it is.

I like my GDP...simple, smooth, and effective...to what degree...who knows. In theory it looks great and the price is right to suppor the theory...where the competition is too proud!

I changed too much on my truck at the same time to pinpoint. It looks good though!

I don't have either of those 2, I have installed the CFM+ and it did reduce the EGTs under load by ~100 degrees. Towing 6k pound box trailer up Cajon pass. The mileage gain was at about .5 mph (hand calculated). If you have a bone stock truck, I think you would get more out of a tuner than a charged air intake, but if you have some other goodies under the hood, this can only help.

I like my GDP, it seems to help on the low end and spools better, no numbers though. (It is cheaper!)

The GDP also allows you to install the GDP 2-micron filter underneath the airhorn, just like with the stock airhorn. I'm not sure if the other intakes allow that.

It will work with the AFE as well.
Some one has to have acess to a flow bench that runs a GDP .........or lend me one and I will test and post results.

I have the GDP intake horn, got it direct from Richard at GDP before the store here offered them. It is a nice, eye-apealing unit, you can SEE the flow, has very nice bends, the inside is also powdercoated, has some extra ports for assy's. All the mounting holes are outside on the bolting flange. My EGT's dropped a good 100*, my 2-micron fuel filter bolts right up to the backside, and my PacBrake compressor also fits up to it. While Richard did not do any DYNO stuff regarding how it performs, just the lowering of the EGT's speaks loudly about the fact that it DOES perform. I am very pleased with it. Good point made by JCLeary about the fact that it will not contribute to a boost leak via the mounting as well.

The bolts go through the manifold, just like a Banks IIRC...

Unlike the GDP, where the bolts are only through the flange.

Actually the bolts on the Bladerunner don't block the air passage like the Banks. The attachment bolts are installed inside the intake elbow. The holes you see on the top are access holes to get the bolts in. Once the bolts are installed the access holes are plugged and sealed.
