has anyone ever heard not to run a oiled filter on a turbo? engine.

 

has been talked about a lot. i have heard from a diesel tech/friend, that there is the possibility of sucking oil into the intake, and in turn into the turbo. have heard of some dealerships that will not honor warranty work on a turbo, if you're running an oiled filter.

 

Been running mine for 42,000 and every time I clean the filter I swab the tube.....NO OIL in there. Be smart about it and dont use 2 cans of oil for 1 filter cleaning....

 

I ran AFE Stage I and then Stage II oiled filters for nearly 60,000 miles. I had both ProGuard 7 and Standard AFE filters(used standard on track for more air flow). I have since switched to the AFE ProDry S filter simply because it is easier to clean. I still swap one of my ProGuard 7 filters when I clean the Pro Dry S for a few days. As long as it is cleaned and re-oiled properly it should not be a problems.
