Advise & help installing aux downtube for Espar heater

I have had my espar installed for a couple years-and for all this time it has been drawing its fuel from the return line into the fuel tank.

My problem is a little minor, but I find that my espar will not run with the fuel tank is at approx 3/8.

I drive lots and I always seem to find myself unable to run my heater because the fuel level is too low.

I would like to do something about it before winter and then remember that I want to do something about this.

What is the best solution for me? Do I add a 2nd downtube?
If so, what is the best way to do it-remove the truck box or drop the fuel tank?
Any help & advise would be greatly appreciated.

I think air dog or fass has a pick up tube system that you can install. It is used to supply fuel to a full size fuel pump so it should be plenty for what you want to do. You will have to drop the tank.

is it easier to drop the tank or lift the box up.

I lowered the tank once, and was worried about pulling / breaking any hosing & wiring.

If you are set up for it, it is way better to pull the bed off than drop the tank. There is a rig that goes under the rail of the bed so you can pull the bed off with a crane or a engine hoist. That is the best way to do it, but a case of beer and four buddy's will do the same thing.
