advice on buying this truck please!

Hey guys. I need some advice as to if this truck is worth what they are selling it for.
It is a 2006 dodge 2500 diesel. Crew cab. Long box. SLT trim.
It has 150,000km on it. But the engine was replaced with a brand new one only
5000km ago. It was damaged(kids ruined it as a prank i was told, put gravel in it
Or something)
So engine isnt even broke in yet. Nothing else has been done to the truck
It has a 4" magnaflow exhaust and a bully dog tuner.
Bolted fenders and aftermarket rims(im assumeing, unless dodges come
With ones like that now haha

They are asking 22000$. Is that too much? I was thinking
18000~ perhaps.... thoughts???

Can upload more pictures of exhaust, chip, and inside tomorroe

The 06s are holding their value extremely well, its almost laughable. Run it on KBB, also get a car fax. I would be very weary of a truck that blew up because of grave?!?l Crawl under it over it and around it, and drive it and listen to her. Also start her cold and only watch the tail pipe, see what if any smoke comes out. Take a cheap code scanner and run it, see if any codes pop.

At close to 100K miles, ball joints, steering components (hopefully it has the 08 upgrade), and all fluids need attention.

IDK, I might walk but its all in what you find and how it looks and sounds.

Going strictly by the vital stats you give and without having seen it, $22k is a bit high, but not outrageous.

Auto or manual? If auto check shifting through the gears and listening for clunking when shifting could be u-joints. Like said before crawl under the truck look for any fresh or any oil leaks. If a manual, the clutches are a weak point for towing if stock. I changed mine out at 120K kept slipping when pulling the trailer. There are many other things to check like AC recirculation door/flap, heater, all the creature features....

The 06's do hold their value very well .... the local dealer is still offering to buy ours for more than what the selling price is for yours.

$18k to $20k is about what I'd offer considering the miles and the engine swap, and check everything else posted above.
