Maybe it is because i have nothing to compare to than stock but i am very happy with how my truck is running and sounding. The turbo is very loud and distinct and i love it. I'm not sure what effect the hi ram is making but the cold air is definately sweet. Here is my review of the install. The cold air intake was very easy to install, and the directions were good. The only thing i didn't like was that the internet picture has the words painted on it. When i got it, none of them are painted, they are just black.
Now as for the hi ram intake, the directions were horrible, figures were not very good and the order of installing certain things could be changed to improve things. One thing that really edited by admin me off was the second gasket that goes between the heater and the intake was too big. It must have been cut wrong and just did not fit. Tryed sliding it on the 4 studs and it broke near the bottom. Compared it to the stock one and all the holes were 1/8th of an inch off. Banks said they don't know how that happened. So i used the stock gasket. I could even go into further details about the install but i will just summ it up and say that what should have been easy, was a big pain in the edited by admin due to poor instructions.

I am thinking about swapping to the Banks intake but don't know. I have the Volant CIA w/ the Banks Big Hoss Bundle w/ PDA. According to Banks the Volant makes 6 less hp than stock which is hard to believe. I hear my turbo as well and I know it is getting air. Don't know if the money is worth changing though. What do you think?
banks is full of you know what. Pretty much an intake is an intake meaning they all are about the same performance wise. The worst thing that can happen with the volant is its producing the same numbers as stock. I was at a buddys house (big blue chevy top kick thats in diesel mags and speed shop ads) and banks reps showed up to have a few beers. Long story short they claim "the banks intake for are trucks is better because of the distance of the sensor to the box which increases the flow of varible rate turbo. Dodge doesn't have VRTs. Stick with what you have
i don't know, im happy with what i have. Like i said its probably because i have nothing to compare it to. Now if i can just get diesel manor to ship my gauges out i will be really happy. They said it would ship friday because they were out of the a pillars. Well no email with tracking number.
I just can't get over the sound of my truck now, the turbo sounds so sick that people turn their heads to see what the heck is driving up next to them. What i really wish i had was an srt-10 type hood that scooped the air and sends it to the airbox.

I saw the Banks cold air intake at the diesel performance shop I frequent and it was by far the most impressive intake kit I've seen. VERY professional looking. However, I'd buy anyone a beer if they can prove the air intakes they install give the HP increase the marketing guys claim. I installed the AFE Stage II and sent it back after I noticed NO performance increase and the gas mileage appeared to drop. To be fair, I have not tried it since the Edge Juice was installed, so maybe it would make a difference then. And as far as the whistling goes, if that's your thing then you should be very happy.
I bought the banks intercooler system after my stock cooler clamps came apart. As for the intercooler its bigger and cools a lot better than stock, but not to get into a intercooler war, I went with banks because of the deal I got. The hi ram intake is ok I guess, I don't see it making a huge difference but it came as a package so I installed it.
As for intakes I read in diesel power mag when they did a comparison on several intakes and they were all about the same in making power, so was the noise of the turbo (whistle), IMO its a matter of what you like, looks and price.
