550HP goal----> how?

quick question to ya gurus of HP...i want to buy 2003-05 2500 2wd QC shortbed auto CTD. my question is this...what mods do i need to do (or what parts should i pick) to reach 500-550hp? i know some people will say that i might as well go as high as i can, but i'm looking at having a truck that will be 1st....a daily driver, 2nd...tow my motorcycle or maybe a camper once in great while, 3rd...dust the occasional putz on the street. from all the reading i've done..seems like 550HP shouldn't be very hard to reach and still be relatively ok on hardware. am i wrong or what? i was reading the HP list but too many choices on what method will have the least amount of mods and still work well.

thank you all for the replies ahead of time.

do u want an auto or stick?a predator or a smarty and a presure box{quad or the new v-akkenc5}will get you there,maybe a larger turbo to cool her down.on a stick if ur not hard on her the stock clutch may last,on an auto u need to spend some dough.

Here is how I got to 600+,, you could back off on the juice to get you down to the mid 500's

Silverbullet
fass
banks IC and High ram
50 hp ddp injectors
Hot Juice
Diablosport predator on extreme stack tune
NADP full race tranny

and that was on a mustang dyno to boot

like what kevin stated above is gonna take to have 550hp. you will need everything he has to make these numbers. many trucks have made 550 on stock injectors but all the other mods are required. you will have to have a fairly built trans also and that is not cheap. you are looking at 1500 or more for a turbo and you will more and likely have to stack a box/downloader to get the power u want

What turbo did you get? Are you using the stock injectors? I currently have a BDTD downloader, but a friend wants to buy it from me so I might get a Smarty and stack. Was your dyno with the 4.4 beta version? Thanks.

Shane is running a aurora 5000. A little big for everyday driving, he has stock injectors, and a stock tranny (amazing isnt it). The 50 hp injectors actually gave me better fuel mileage along with power.

Personally I would get rid of the bully dog. Im not a fan of them,, but I know that there are guys who are,, but most of the big hp guys dont run them

Thanks for the info. It looks like a lot of guys are doing well with the silver bullet turbo. Its hard to know the best way to go since there are so many choices. I just want to copy someone else with good results on an 06 to save me headaches and money .

he means the turbo is too big to tow with. not trying to answer your questions for you shane. it has so much lag it is not meant to tow with. its more for competition really. drag racing & sled pulling. its around 71mm. its not small at all. it takes a couple seconds to spool with 250hp worth of fueling on an automatic truck. does that make any more sense now. I drive it everyday but it can be a pain in the rear. its meant to get out and go. on the interstate it does great. in town the boost gauge barely moves
