55/65 watt head lights to 80/100 watt?
In my 2004 Dodge 1 Ton Diesel, can I remove the factory 55/65 watt head lights and replace those with 80/100 watt bulbs and have them work?
The reason why I’m asking is that I was told that the system is load sensitive and the computer will sense that the head lights are drawing more power and in return will shut the system down.

Go to the PIAA Website and do a search on replacement bulbs for your vehicle.
I have an 04 2500 and replaced the factory 9007's with PIAA going drawing 65/55w putting out 120/110w of light....big impovement
Have had the bulbs in since beginning of Jan and no problems.

No problems running my aftermarket lightbulbs (been so long I can't remember what they are...) Sylvania's? I think they were $28 from Wally World.
Have fun changing them out though. At least on my truck, one light was easy and other was a major PIA - the passenger side JUST DIDN'T WANT to come out. Can't remember the socket size, but you'll also need a longer 1/4" extension to reach way in for one of the bolts.

The xtreme plus have a blue tip so you get that fake HID wannabe look. If thats what you're going for, go for it. I prefer the super white platinums, which have a more bright/white color temperature, and provide the best vision at night. Either will be a nice improvement over stock.
I went with the Sylvanias, the best price I found with the PIAA's was 75.00. The left headlight was a pain in the butt for me. I got the right out (pass side) by going under the bumper but the left side I took out the fender well enough to get the lock off a headlight post on the back. 3 bolts and removed the headlight. They work great and didn't hurt the wallet too much.
