5" turbo back exhaust???
5" turbo back exhaust???
Anyone here have one? What brand is it?
MBRP's 5" has a 4" downpipe. So does Bully Dog's (according to their tech line).
Who makes a true 5"? Where does the exhaust tip sit?
I'm sick of my Bank's exhaust. 1.5 years old and the muffler's shot and the "stainless" is starting to rust. In California, no less. No salting of roads around here. I don't think it has snowed in SF since the sixties.
Any help will be appreciated...

How do they sound? How 'bout pricing?
I'd love an exhaust with a side exit on the passenger side parallel to the tire, kind of like the Bully Dog 6".
I just don't understand the point of a HUGE exhaust with a 4" downpipe. I'll have to check these brands out.

Big exhaust
I agree that going from a -true- 4" into 6" is questionable for performance. If you increase volume, velocity will generally decrease. Although Bully Dog and others recommend this for 550+ hp trucks. I don't think I am quite in this league yet.
I can say this; the 6" system from Bully Dog does sound healthy and you shouldn't grow out of this one. For me, it was a way to distinguish the truck.
The sound is very deep. It does produce a unique resonance with the larger pipes. Spare tire clearance is an issue with this system. Mine is absolutely as high as can be without placing the spare in the bed.
I would be willing to do some sound clips if someone would show me the finer points of adding this to a post.

I have a 5" flo pro. It sounds great but it droned somethin' aweful. I just installed a monster of an exhaust tip and stuck it out a couple inches past the edge of the bed. The drone is almost gone to the point that I don't even notice it now. Just got back last night from a 300 mile trip and completly forgot about the drone. I'm pretty pumped about it. It was driving me crazy. Just don't order the exhaust from rpmoutlet.com. The guy sent me the wrong exhaust and never did send me the right one. I had to have a muffler shop fab mine to fit my truck. He also sells on ebay under the name fastgasracer. Stay away from him. Other people on here have had issues with him also.

I bought mine at RPMoutlet. com for $400 shipped to my door. Install was easy everything lined up perfect. The sound is awesome. The exit makes a big difference on the drone or no drone. My system doesn't drone because of the exit of the tip. It's away from any sheet metal or any other parts of the truck; very important.

Unless your going for much higher Hp (450-500 or more), with turbo, injector and tranny mods, stick with 4" exhaust. MBRP and FLO PRO are excellent systems as well as Silverline and others. I have slower spool up with the 5". Much lower EGT's, and less low end torque than stock. MPG is less than 1 mpg improved(i'd probably gain 1 mpg with a 4" cat free system)

It also clears everything under the truck.
