Thanx 53, guess that has to do with loss of backpressure. I was considering one. But I like my mbrp 4".

I had silverline 5" staight piped on my 03 and it was much deeper than the stock straight piped. It wasnt really louder tho, atleast i didnt think so. Just deeper. and it did seem like i lost a little bottom end when i straight piped the 5"

I have a 5 inch diamond eye. Seems with the big tires at highway speeds minus the kitty with a muffler I don't get a bad drone, but that is because my RPMs are down. I recently put the stock tires back on to pull from Alaska and had a moderate drone at highway speeds due to the increased RPM. I think I read somewhere in here that unless you are running 850 HP you really don't need the 5 inch.... but then again, it does look good.

Mine has a 5 inch downpipe into the 5 inch exhaust.... It was alot of fun getting that to mate up with the Jacobs exhaust brake. Won't ever do that again...

Holy crap... Would have been worth every penny... Spent most of the day with heat, a spreader, ruining a $30 gasket on the exhaust brake..

you dont need that little gasket. i found out the hard way after ordering it when i messed up the supplied one...to the tune of $50.

i finally had mine finished by DC and the installer told me a jake rep said they were not really needed. i think it took them about an hour from start to finish. they were the cheapest by a long shot. the other guys wanted anywhere from 200-450...i told them that they were crazy

And now I found out I don't need that stupid gasket.... What a waste, spent about 2 hours driving from Dodge to Dodge to the cummins/onan store to find it....
